The COST Action VISTA (Values in Turbulent Times) held its 1st General Meeting in Milan, Italy, on January 22–23, 2026.
The two-day conference was hosted by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. The event brought together international scholars, researchers, and early-career investigators to examine how profound social changes, technological advancements, and overlapping crises are transforming societal values across Europe.
The meeting focused on establishing the interdisciplinary groundwork for the Action by featuring sessions and discussions from its five core working groups, and addressed the following key areas:
• Methodological and epistemological challenges in measuring values • Trends and support for core European Union values • The contextual and individual factors driving value change • The impact of generational shifts • Communication and dissemination strategies
